Madraigos means 'steps' in Hebrew. Step by step we aim to guide today's youth on a path of self-improvement; and emotional, physical and spiritual well-being one step at a time. Since there are many paths in life, Madraigos nurtures, enriches, protects, validates, and counsels young adults and teens, along with their families, to choose the right path for them. Madraigos provides a wide array of innovative programs and professional services designed for teens and young adults to help them cope with the everyday challenges of life. Madraigos focuses on the growth and wellness of our teenagers and young adults, giving them the opportunity to make the right choices. Our experience has found that many of these young adults have resorted to extreme behavior in order to find their niche in a confusing, hostile and often painful world. Many of these kids have social, emotional, academic or family issues. We work tirelessly to help not only stop the unhealthy behavior, but to get to the root of the problem and deal with the underlying issues. We believe that with ongoing support, young adults have a valuable resource that prevents them from regressing and encourages them to move forward.
 

By establishing a warm, non-judgmental and safe environment, Madraigos motivates and inspires its participants to overcome their challenges, no matter what those challenges may be. Programs and services are designed to enhance the individual skills and self-esteem of each participant and provide opportunities for natural talents to thrive and flourish in a conducive and positive environment. Our goal is to provide each of our members with the requisite tools and skills to enable them to live a healthy lifestyle, make responsible life decisions and be an active and contributing member of society.
 

"Many issues facing teens are exacerbated by a fear that they are not accepted for who they are. This can be a byproduct of their inability to live up to standards, real or imagined, set by home, school and/or society. Having no appropriate outlet or mode of expression for these feelings proves to be detrimental. Madraigos not only understands these concerns but validates them as well. We know that the most important thing for any youngster at any age is to feel safe, secure, loved and taken care of. At Madraigos a teenager, no matter his or her circumstances, feels just that." Madraigos works in conjunction with the teen's family, community schools, synagogues, and professional organizations. We believe that only through a combined effort can we truly make a difference in the lives of teens and their families, helping them to grow and continue to take one madraigah at a time.
